How to Find Your Passion-filled Work by Listening to Your Body Talk

Let’s face it most of us spend our lives in our heads. When we have a decision to make we use our head. We research, analyze and think, think, think! Now, there is nothing wrong with a bit of thought but when we leave out our bodies wisdom we often head the wrong direction. This is a statement I often hear from client’s, “I don’t know what I want anymore! I feel lost.” Our body can be our greatest friend when it comes to figuring out what we want. It is very hard for our body to lie. That is why lie detectors work so well. Our body tends to tell the truth. Have you ever had a job that you didn’t like? Did your body complain by getting sick often, getting headaches, neck aches, backaches, feeling exhausted? My guess is that it did. Our wonderful body has ways of saying “no” to things we don’t want or like. The problem is that most of us are not listening. In fact we often do not listen until the messages get so loud that we are knocked flat on our backs…literally! The way to find your passion-filled work and life is to learn to listen to your body saying “Yes” or “No”.

So how do you do that? I’m glad you asked! Here is a simple exercise to help you notice the signs your body gives you. Take a minute to think of the worst job you ever had. Really imagine yourself working that job again. Now notice what your body is doing and feeling. Did your hand touch your throat? Do you feel tension in your shoulders? All these are signs that your body is telling you “NO!” You can play with this some more by thinking of the three people you dislike the most. Imagine all three of them moving in with you!! Help! What is your body doing and feeling now? Make notes about how your body says “no” so you will remember.

Living the Love Affair With Life!

“It wasn’t until the doorway was opened and I fell into the abyss of unknowing, met my undoing, faced the root fear of non-being, and slowly emerged from this profound process of awakening, that I recognized what I had sensed and had been expressing in my life all along: We are already That for which we seek….

“There is a portal to remembering Who we really are, and it is always forever available here, now. All we need do is attune our hearing to its subtle voice, and fall into the Love Affair of Life.”
– ronda larue 2001

“People often say to me: ‘I have no artistic ability’. To which I always reply: ‘Nonsense’ (or worse!) ‘You are at the very deepest core of your being, first and foremost, an artist. You are the brush and the canvass and the color and the hand - and that which conspires to bring these together into creative relationship and expression!’

We are not who we seem. We are not what we seem. We are the living Creative Moment. We are Creation engaged in the evolving awareness of Being. Or, to put it another way: We are God’s realization of Creative Potential — arising out of nothing, and with-in us finding expression - and thus seeing.

Spring Into Enchantment

by: Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein

Who can control a smile sneaking across your face as you go outside on a beautiful spring day, suddenly finding your nostrils filled with a sweet aroma of fresh blooms, while feeling warm breezes against your skin, whispering, “No coat today.”? Nature provides enchantment all around us in the spring. The birds sing, the flowers bloom, animals have their babies, new birds learn to fly. If you look high up in a tree you might see an exquisite bird singing loudly, full of life. It is as if nature gives humans an opportunity for enchantment all around. Yet, we often are indifferent, not responding spontaneously to the rebirth of spring. We seem to be, at times, equipped to live lives of misery brought on by ourselves. Many of us are able to generate a bad mood, put ourselves down, see our future as dark or today as gloomy. We have lost or never had the easy comfort and capacity to relax and enjoy life that a cat has on a sunny porch just snoozing and rolling over. We humans have to work at enchantment. Let s take a moment and look at what the major components of this work called “enchantment” are.

To experience what we call THE ENCHANTED SELF, that is positive states of mind and body again and again, a person must be able to develop three capacities. The first is the ability to successfully meet one s needs. This can be challenging when we find ourselves committed or obligated to be elsewhere or doing other things. There is a saying, “If you can t go to the mountain than bring the mountain to you.” You may yearn to be outdoors playing sports or gardening but find yourself stuck indoors at home or at work. Opening the windows to let fresh air in, displaying a vase of colorful flowers on a table are some of the ways that can enable you to experience a spring day.

Express Your Passions Through the Power of Your Senses

Close your eyes and remember a time when you felt vibrantly alive. What comes to mind when you recollect that memory? Perhaps the tingling of your skin, colors or the way light sparkles, a pulsing heart, a smell that curls into your nostrils and transforms into deep satisfaction, or a flavor that makes your mouth pop! Your senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell are portals to rich experiences. Spend time playing and rediscovering the power of your senses and it will transform the ordinary into the extraordinary in your life. Just Do It! Although you can read about the power of your senses, your own experience will teach you to live more fully empowered and express your passionate emotions through your senses. The following prompts and invitations will whet your appetite, open new vistas, herald a call to dive deep, tickle your soul to explore further and invite a delicious breath of new learning into your lungs and heart. These coaching exercises will also inspire you to change your perception and embrace your true potential.

Exercise 1: The Personal Meaning of Clear Vision Experience with clear vision what you see, instead of interpreting. Once the colors, shapes, and images become good or bad, pretty or ugly, familiar or unfamiliar you have stepped away from a clear view. Journal a sunset, an oak tree or the moment at dusk when all is in shadow. Describe it with your sense of sight in vivid detail. Do not stop until you have captured it all. Once you have set pen down read through your description. Notice how many details you would normally have missed with the average glance. What surprises can you find in your observation? Another way to truly understand and gain clear vision is to practice seeing with eyes of love and wonder. Look into the face of someone you cherish. Invite them to share this experience. Spend several minutes in quiet observation and reverence. What can you learn about this beloved? What do you see that you have never seen before? How does your heart feel in response to such an intimate viewing?

Exercise 2: Capture the Orchestra of Your Life Look back on your life and discover what sounds capture your essence. A puppy’s excited bark? The sound of the 10 AM train? The melody of instruments from the kitchen as your mother prepared Sunday breakfast? Write these sounds out like the lines of a musical score. Draw, imagine and recapture them. Feel the ripple of those sounds coming full circle around you. Also, listen for emotion while communicating with others. Listen for feelings behind the words.

Exercise 3: Touch and Feel as an Expression of Passion You touch things all day long unconsciously. Bring awareness to how something feels and ignite your passion. Take one ordinary task in your life and make it an exercise in touch awareness: doing the laundry, filing papers, taking a shower. What do you notice? What sensations surprise you? Can you make this sensory experience richer? Take one day and make it day when you touch everything with love.

Exercise 4: The Taste of Personal Empowerment How many meals have you had in the past week? How many bites did you really notice, savor, and linger with? How was the food prepared? Where did the food come from? Is it all a blur? Conduct a taste-testing extravaganza. Choose one of your all time favorite foods. Is it chocolate, a glass of wine, a fresh pear? Make a meal or snack of your favorites food, invite some friends and taste test to your hearts content. Savor each bit, describe it and distinguish how one morsel differs from another. Serious fun, delight and deep satisfaction are the results of this tasty discovery of the delicious.

Exercise 5: The Scent of Inspiration and Success You breathe in and out all day and all night. Why not leverage this breath for all it is worth? Your sense of smell can inform, inspire, and even caution you. Make a savory meal and focus on how each portion smells before you taste or sit quietly with your favorite perfume or incense and experience the feelings invoked by these scents.

Sight, sound, touch, taste and smell are at the core of who we are physically and emotionally. With just a few exercises you can dramatically enhance the depth, texture and experience of your life. Wake up your senses and, in turn, your passion. Become more fully attuned to the present moment and smile at the new vibrancy you find in life!

Find your Passion

Are you on a search to find a passion in your life? A passion so incredible that it could change your very existence?

There exists a specific passion for every being on this earth. Yet most of us miss this passion and live a life of mediocrity.

This article will inspire you to search for your passion and find purpose in your life.

HOW PASSION TRANSFORMED MY LIFE

In two years passion changed my life.

I could sit here and tell you how happy I am, and why I smile every morning why I wake up. How my life has infinite meaning and Im how at ease with my existence. And you may or may not believe that is possible.

But here are some practical results. Six months after I found my passion I lost 100 pounds without even consciously dieting. I went from an alcoholic to complete sobriety without going through any treatment. And I cured myself of the intense panic attacks that were plaguing my life, all without having to take anti depressants. The true anti depressant is passion!

Have you tried to rid yourself of your negative habits? How successful were you? It is hard to be successful if you concentrate on only the problem and not the root of the problem. The root of the problem is a life devoid of passion which is a life without value. A life without value is a breeding ground for negative habits. Conquer those negative habits with passion!

Having a passion in your life creates miracles.

HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR PASSION

Chances are your passion is already in your life waiting for you to find it.

I met a woman recently who wanted to write a book her whole life. Her passion in life is to write. The only problem is she doesnt realize she NEEDS to write a book. Her life will be unfulfilled until she does so.

If she understood that, she would start writing that book immediately. Even if she only had the time to write a sentence a day that is the start of the journey of achieving her passion.

The fact is she is still in the same position as she was 5 years ago. Had she started only writing one sentence a day then, today she would have 1,825 sentences instead of just the idea that one day she would like to write a book.

Transforms your passions from WANTS into NEEDS.

What have you been wanting to do that youve been carrying around with your for the last five years? Chances are, THAT is your passion in life.

I wanted to write and produce a record for 12 years before I figured out that I NEEDED to write this record otherwise I would never be satisfied with life.

Embrace that passion, fall in love with it and let it take you away! Your life will become perfect because of it.

Passions enrich Relationships

One thing that I found lacking in my life was my relationships. My father and I hadnt had the best relationship in the last few years. I take most of the blame for I had made some poor decisions in my life.

My passion literally changed my life in a matter of days. I enjoyed waking up every morning because I knew that I could pursue my passion anew! Having this attitude helps you appreciate your life and loved ones more. I was able to express my love for my Father because I was at ease with my life.

At the same time, my father was happy just to see me happy. My passion in life has enriched my relationship with my father to the point that I now consider him my best friend.

The other great thing about having a passion in life is it inspires others. My father told me something a few months back that I will never forget. He told me that I had become the biggest inspiration in his life over the last year because I was living my life with passion. That met more to me than anything anyone has ever told me.

Have you tried to improve areas of your life with no success? Would you like a more healthy life thats enriched with great relationships? Find your passion, and automatically all those negative habits in your life will correct themselves if they are in the way of your passion!

Passion is like Bathing It isnt permanent

Life is amazingly strange. You can find your passion in life and still struggle. If youre not careful, your passion can slip away from you.

Once you discover your passion and cultivate it, you must do your best to never let it go.

Put all your eggs in one basket and guard that basket with your life!

Human beings are self doubting creatures by nature. Tiger Woods must pratice daily to eradicate that self doubt. So where does that leave the rest of us?

I have learned to surround myself with positive people who also live their life with passion. I read motivational books and listen to audio programs daily. And most importantly, when I am in doubt I ask my creator for guidance to get the answers I need.

Often times my creator will show me the answers iI need. When you are living a life harmonious with your passion, you are more aware of your connection with your Creator. That fact alone will enrich your life greater than anything in this material world.

FIND YOUR PASSION TODAY!

Dive head first into your passion this instance. You may not be here tomorrow, so go for it today. Take this gift of life and make the most of it.

The only way to do that is to find your passion in life.

All glories to You!
