What’s Your Response to the Economy?

Author: Michael A Verdicchio

It seems to be the big topic of the day. I talked to a couple of people last week and it wasn’t long before we were talking about the economy. One individual was nervous and afraid, but the other person was peaceful and confident. We were talking about the same situation, but there were two very different responses.

When you get really honest, how you think about the current economy determines how you feel about it. But the real question is, does your response have anything to do with the results that you have in your own life?

The truth is that our response to the current information as well as experiences in our lives not only contributes, but to a large degree, actually determines the results that we are seeing in our lives.

Now, I know today that there are many who have embraced the idea that no matter what happens, “It’s not my fault.” We live in a society indoctrinated to take no responsibility for ones own actions. But, just because many accept and believe that, it doesn’t make it true.

Some people today are not happy with their circumstances. Their life is not what they wanted nor envisioned it to be. They would rather have a much different set of circumstances. There are really only two choices that they can make.

The easiest choice is for them to blame everyone and everything for where they are in their life. It certainly cannot be their fault. They have tried and just can’t seem to succeed.

How Long Or Short Is Your Success Journey?

Author: Kozan Huseyin

Do you have a life goal? Is it a big goal or small? The problem with most people is that they set goals, but because they are so small, they actually hit it, and wonder what happened! In this article, I aim to get you to your destination.

Before we look at destinations, it is important to understand this principle of journeys. We know some people live in the same home from birth to death, while others set the standard life goal of having a life partner, hopefully a soul mate, children, and a home.

Though this is a goal we all pretty much want, and deserve, the truth is that whatever you set for yourself in life, and strive to achieve, you will achieve! I remember a poem that in essence said - if you bargain with life for a penny, that is all it will pay.

You must realize that whatever you want from life, it will deliver. Whether riches, happiness or whatever you seek, you will find. Even Jesus told us that one, and so many more people - the greatest minds, and people have told us.

So make your dreams bold and big and remember - if you shoot for the Moon and miss, you will land amongst the stars! Let us begin, and let us look at this success thing, because it is important.

What Type of Person Are You?

Author: David Dutch

I don’t know about you but the majority of people today are finding it tougher and tougher to make ends meet and keep a roof above their heads. Either they lose their jobs or are facing redundancy as the economy of almost every nation in the world takes a down turn.

But this is not a downhearted situation at all really, for if you look back in history to the great depression of the thirties that was when people who were capable of looking beyond the norm were able to lay the foundations of great businesses of the future. Instead of jumping from office windows they were jumping onto ideas that were small to begin with but had the potential to grow beyond expectations.

As the great J D Rockefeller said at the time, “These are days when many are discouraged. In the 93 years of my life, depressions have come and gone. Prosperity has always returned and will again”; I know you could be sat there reading this and saying to your self ‘that is OK for Rockefeller he had a fortune when the depression hit, I don’t, I have a mortgage.’

I think that the essential lesson to learn from his words are that in 5 years time some will look back at this time in history and thank god that we were able to pull through and get it behind them.

However in this world there are three types of people and you must decide which type you are. There are those who ‘Make’ things happen; they are the dreamers who put some action behind their dreams and become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. There are those who ‘Watch’ things happen, they are the ones who dream of better things but do nothing about it, just in case, they live in a world of fantasy. Then there are those who simply say ‘What Happened’, they neither dream nor fantasise, they simply moan, and look for someone else to blame for their situation.

It is up to you and you alone to decide which group you are going to belong to. If you decided that you are not going to sit back and allow things to happen, you want to take action today to make sure that tomorrow is better, and you need to think outside the box.

Finding The Opportunity In Adversity

Author: Kozan Huseyin

Even in the worst parts of life, when all seems down, and nothing can work out, there is a way. There is opportunity even in the worst, and finding it is like striking gold. Suddenly sad faces become happy. Poverty transforms is struck off and success happens.

This article is based on one premise and one premise alone - when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! We all have likely heard this statement, and it is based on a big truth.

In adversity there is always opportunity. Finding it is the question. Belief is a must. And working with these, you can find your opportunity that will take you out of sadness into happiness, out of poverty, and into wealth.

It applies to all the problems, because the problem and the solution are the same. A person, who needs opportunity, need only create it him or herself.

For example, let us take your example. You are reading this because you likely find yourself in a position of adversity. It may seem like all the doors are closed and even hope is at the last straw. It is at these times that our greatest accomplishments can be seen.

The economy first had its crunch, and then the recession. However, as all previous recessions have proved, some of the biggest gainers have been people who had adversity, but still kept on.

A Recession Shouldn’t Rule your Life - 5 Tips to Overcome Your Feelings of Insecurity

Author: Joan Marie Whelan

While our economy may be experiencing a recession, it doesn’t mean that your mind and spirit need to fall into a slump as well. I know it’s difficult sometimes; especially if you’re a worry wart, who constantly tunes into the six o’clock news to get status reports on the state of the Union. Put that aside for a moment. I want you to focus on you. Throw away the external components of the world and take a long look at your life.

What are you doing to make your life more bearable; and beyond that, what are you doing to create happiness in your life? Following are five tips to overcome your feelings of insecurity in these sometimes stressful times:

1. Don’t make mountains out of mole hills. Many times, we become our worst own enemy because we begin to exaggerate our challenges. It’s easy to do when you allow yourself to become overwhelmed to the point of no return. I imagine Chicken Little felt that way when he automatically assumed that the sky was falling. Before you jump to extreme conclusions about your situation, you need to take a step backward and put your mind on rewind for a moment. Relax. Take different perspectives of your present condition. Ask yourself:

What options do I have at this point?
What talents, tools, or skills do I have at my disposal?
What are my goals?
What goals are achievable?
What plan of action do I have to achieve these goals?

After you’ve asked yourself these questions, I want you to take out a journal, notebook, or paper pad - whatever you have at your disposal; and begin jotting down ideas and answers to those questions. When you use your intuitive powers, you will be amazed at the resolutions you can come up with on your own. It’s really not rocket science; you just have to use your inner wisdom and god-given abilities to make lemonade out of lemons.

2. Embrace the challenge. How often have you been asked to perform a task that you thought was humanly impossible? Actually, there aren’t too many things we humans can’t do in life. It all depends on the mentality we have, and how we perceive the challenge to be. I know you’ve heard the old adage about the two individuals looking out of the same window: one sees the darkness, the other the stars. What do you see when you look out your proverbial window of life? Do you see darkness cloaking your view, or do you see the light from the stars to light your way?
